We've outlined some general information about applying for need-based financial aid. If you would like more detailed information and specific deadlines, be sure to visit the Financial Aid Office Web site, www.finaid.duke.edu .
If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you should indicate on your application that you are applying for financial aid. You should also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the PROFILE application provided by the College Scholarship Service. In addition, you should submit a copy of your family's most recently filed tax forms to the College Board's Institutional Documentation Service.
If you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you should indicate on your application that you are applying for financial aid. You should also submit the College Board's International Student Financial Aid Application as well as a number of supportive financial documents, including a copy of your family's most recent national tax forms and statements from your parents' employers outlining annual income and benefits received in connection with their employment. These documents should be translated into English. Please note that international students who apply for financial aid must apply to Duke under our Regular Decision plan.
